Summary: The LB Architect role is a contract position based in London, UK, requiring expertise in network architecture and design, particularly with F5 load balancers and related technologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Ownership of Network Architecture and Design within infrastructure delivery projects.
- Gather and validate technical requirements with stakeholders, ensuring resiliency, scalability, security, and operability.
- Lead analysis, definition, design, and testing of medium to large infrastructures.
- Provide 3rd level support for initial production deployment and ongoing escalation support.
- Collaborate with peer team members to ensure architectural cohesion and strategic alignment.
- Consult with Application development, Service Management, and Architecture teams.
- Act as a subject matter expert in network infrastructure areas such as load balancers and security.
- Define lifecycle management strategies for hardware and software.
- Maintain and update technical documentation for reference and best practices.
- Research, test, and validate potential solutions based on technical strategy.
- Produce high- and low-level designs and work with implementation teams.
- Design and validate proof of concepts for new load balancing patterns.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel, providing updates to stakeholders and prioritizing as needed.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in F5 BIG-IP, F5 LTM/GTM/DNS, iRules/iApps, ASM/APM, and DNS Architecture.
- Knowledge of DDI, Infoblox, Proxy, and Time services (desirable).

The Role: Must be expert in level design and operational experience on one of F5 load balancers, DDI, dns, Infoblox, Proxy, Time services .
Your responsibilities:
- Ownership of Network Architecture, Design within infrastructure delivery projects.
- Work with stakeholders to gather and validate technical requirements and ensure resiliency, scalability, security, support and operability requirements are included.
- Lead the analysis, definition, design and testing of medium to large infrastructures.
- Provide 3rd level support for the initial production deployment of new capabilities and ongoing 3rd level escalation support during normal working hours.
- Work closely with peer team members in a distributed organization ensuring architectural cohesion and strategic technical alignment and act as oversight and escalation for other teams.
- Provides consultancy to Application development, Service Management and Architecture teams, communicating clearly to technical and business audience.
- A subject matter expert in a technical area of the network infrastructure, for example Load balancers, routing/switching, security, network services, and scripting.
- Define lifecycle management strategies for hardware and software.
- Maintain and update technical documentation functioning as reference/standards/best practice material.
- Research, test and validate potential solutions in order to meet future requirements based on a provided technical strategy.
- Produce high- and low-level designs and work with implementation teams to deliver them.
- Design and validate proof of concepts (PoCs) for new load balancing / traffic management patterns.
- Work on multiple projects in parallel, providing regular updates to multiple stakeholders and prioritizing as business requires.
