Summary: The Junior PowerBI Developer will support the Head of Change and Enablement by maintaining and enhancing Power BI dashboards for a temporary period of 6 months. The role focuses on implementing dashboard translations, ensuring accessibility compliance, and documenting data models and reporting processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders to address a backlog of Power BI tasks while adhering to consistent standards across analytics assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support dashboard translation efforts by developing and maintaining Power BI measures and translation tables to enable multilingual reporting.
- Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG) across Power BI dashboards, helping to standardize visuals, colour contrast, and navigation for inclusive user experiences.
- Document existing data models and dashboards, including relationships, measures, calculated columns, and DAX logic, to ensure clear handover and maintainability.
- Assist in improving dashboard consistency through cleanup, version tracking, and alignment with internal design standards.
- Work under supervision of a senior BI Developer to deliver updates, enhancements, and bug fixes to existing reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand reporting needs and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
- Contribute to QA and testing of Power BI dashboards to ensure data accuracy, usability, and translation functionality.
- Follow best practices for data modelling, DAX development, and Power BI performance optimisation.
- Assist with minor data preparation tasks, including updating Power Query steps or refreshing data sources, as directed by the senior developer.
- Support client teams with ad-hoc data requests pertaining to specific requirements not covered by the dashboards but inherent in the underlying data set.
- Stay curious and proactive in learning about new Power BI features, accessibility improvements, and analytics best practices.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (or working toward one) in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, including creating measures, using Power Query, and designing accessible dashboards.
- Understanding of data modelling principles (e.g., star schema, relationships, calculated columns).
- Basic knowledge of DAX and Power BI Service (publishing, workspace management).
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to documentation.
- Interest in data visualization accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive design.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Change and Enablement the PowerBI BI Developer will support our team in maintaining and improving our suite of Power BI dashboards. This temporary role is for 6 months and will focus on implementing dashboard translations, ensuring WCAG accessibility compliance, and producing clear documentation for data models and reporting processes. The successful candidate will work closely with our existing BI Developer and other internal stakeholders to help clear a backlog of Power BI tasks and ensure consistent standards across our analytics assets.
