Summary: As a Junior Content Designer, you will be responsible for creating user-centered digital content that adheres to GDS style and accessibility standards. This role requires collaboration with UX/UI designers to ensure content integration into layouts and iterative improvements based on user feedback. Live SC clearance is required for this contract, which has a duration of 3 months with potential extensions. The position is hybrid, allowing for a mix of remote and on-site work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, edit and structure content so it is simple, clear and easy for users to understand.
- Follow GDS content standards, agreed templates and tone-of-voice guidance.
- Use research, data and feedback to improve clarity and usability.
- Work closely with the UX/UI designer to ensure content fits naturally into the agreed page layouts and component patterns.
- Support publishing and accuracy checks, ensuring all content meets accessibility requirements.
- Collaborate with researchers and designers in an agile, multidisciplinary team.
- Work with service owners and content creators from across MOD to create signed-off content.
Key Skills:
- Experience in content design and writing for digital platforms.
- Understanding of GDS content standards and accessibility requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with UX/UI designers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong editing and structuring skills to create clear and user-friendly content.
- Experience using research and data to inform content decisions.
- Live SC clearance.

Junior Content Designer
As a Junior Content Designer, you'll create clear, user-centred content for digital.mod, ensuring all information is simple, accurate and aligned to GDS style and accessibility standards. You'll work closely with the UX/UI designer to make sure content fits seamlessly into agreed layouts and Figma components, and support iterative improvements based on user insights.
