Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer with active SC clearance to support the delivery of complex digital services in a secure environment. The role involves designing and maintaining scalable backend services using modern JVM technologies. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within an agile team, focusing on quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD). This position is primarily remote with occasional onsite attendance required in various locations including Sheffield, Leeds, or London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and delivery teams in an agile environment.
- Contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following TDD principles.
- Participate in pair programming and peer review activities.
- Support the delivery of high-quality digital services within government or similarly regulated environments.
- Promote engineering best practices across the wider team.
Key Skills:
- Active SC Clearance.
- Experience with Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
