Summary: The Implementation Manager for Workday at a leading UK bank will oversee the implementation of HR systems as part of a broader technology transformation initiative. This role requires a technically-minded individual who can manage complex platform rollouts, ensuring effective planning, execution, and transition to business-as-usual operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing technical implementations and coordinating various stakeholders throughout the process. Experience in financial services and Workday is advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own implementation planning for a Workday / HR systems transformation
  • Create and manage detailed cutover plans, runbooks and implementation schedules
  • Coordinate data migration activity, validation, dress rehearsals and go-live readiness
  • Work closely with technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors and service teams
  • Manage risks, dependencies, issues and blockers across delivery workstreams
  • Support release management, environment readiness and change governance
  • Coordinate business readiness, communications, adoption activity and stakeholder updates
  • Ensure service desk / BAU teams are ready to support the platform post go-live
  • Manage hypercare activity following implementation
  • Drive clear reporting, escalation and delivery governance throughout the programme

Key Skills:

  • Strong Implementation Manager, Cutover Manager, Release Manager or Technical Project Manager background
  • Experience delivering complex business or technology platform implementations
  • Strong cutover planning, implementation planning and go-live management experience
  • Experience with data migration, UAT, dress rehearsals and production readiness
  • Good understanding of handover to BAU, service transition, service desk readiness and hypercare
  • Strong stakeholder management across business, technology, vendors and support teams
  • Comfortable working in structured governance environments
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to bring order to complex delivery
  • Workday experience would be useful, but is not essential
  • Financial services experience would be beneficial, but is not essential
