Summary: The GIS Product Owner will lead the development and enhancement of GIS tools, collaborating with various stakeholders and product owners to ensure geospatial data meets business needs. This role involves managing the product backlog, acting as a subject matter expert, and driving improvements in data quality and business value. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills in GIS and data management, with a focus on delivering high-quality geospatial data. A background in digital product ownership and experience with ESRI GIS applications is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day product backlog for GIS tools and collaborating with development teams to deliver enhancements.
  • Working closely with other Product Owners to enable the delivery of the Utility Network Model in line with business requirements.
  • Acting as a super user and subject matter expert for asset and work master data in geospatial products.
  • Collaborating with other product owners to ensure geospatial data supports wider digital products and legal obligations (e.g., NUAR, Digdat).
  • Driving improvements in data quality and business value through data model and process changes.
  • Driving data migration and data cleansing to support the UNM Data Model Upgrade.
  • Supporting stakeholders with data queries, incident resolution, and implementation of product changes.
  • Defining asset data requirements, data quality criteria, and assurance processes.
  • Supporting the development of a centre of expertise in asset and work master data management.

Key Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of the ESRI GIS application landscape.
  • Strong experience in product ownership, backlog management, and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional development teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements.

Job Description: Mandatory Skills: GIS ESRI As the GIS Product Owner , you’ll be a leader in the development and continuous improvement of GIS tools, working closely with the other Product Owners including Utility Network Model, Update Tool, View Tools, and mobile GIS applications (Field Maps). You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and other product owners to ensure our geospatial data and tools meet business needs and deliver measurable value.
