Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software using Python and Django
- Clearly communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with other engineers, including pair programming, and take the lead when the Tech Lead is unavailable
- Work with third-party suppliers to design and implement system integrations
- Contribute to planning, delivery, and continuous improvement within an Agile team
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code aligned to product requirements
- Support and coach junior developers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Python and Flask or Django
- Proven experience with TDD and BDD driven by product requirements
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
- Strong exposure to XP practices, particularly pair programming
- Familiarity with RESTful web applications
- Experience working with queueing systems
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Solid knowledge of relational databases and performance optimisation
- Basic understanding of HTML and web accessibility standards
- Ability to work with the NHS Frontend Toolkit
