Key Responsibilities:

  • Govern architectural standards, patterns, and decision frameworks.
  • Collaborate with senior business, engineering, and security stakeholders.
  • Shape architecture roadmaps, capability models, and target-state domains.
  • Complete contracts without jumping.

Key Skills:

  • Strong background in enterprise architecture within banking.
  • Experience with UK Payments (BACS, CHAPS, FPS, card issuing/acquiring, tokenisation, EMVCo, 3DS).
  • Knowledge of digital channels (mobile/web architecture, identity, OAuth2, OIDC, RBA).
  • Expertise in credit-risk architecture (decisioning engines, modelling platforms, governance).
  • Demonstrable leadership in complex platform redesign and integration.
  • Familiarity with architectural tooling such as Abacus, Sparx EA or equivalent.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of completing contracts successfully.

Enterprise Architect – Payments / Digital / Banking

Robert Half (an S&P 500 global staffing firm) is supporting a major consulting partner in sourcing senior Enterprise Architects to support a large-scale transformation across digital channels, UK payments, and credit-risk platforms. This work spans architecture strategy, domain road-mapping, complex regulatory design, and cross-platform integration. You will work directly with Chief Architect and C-suite stakeholders across a wide enterprise change agenda.

Assignment Details

  • Initial Duration : 3 to 6 months
  • Location : Hybrid with UK hours (flexible on-site as required)
  • Day Rate : £600 to £700 per day via FCSA umbrella accredited company
  • Start Date : January

Role Overview

In this assignment, you will join a high-performing architecture function to define and oversee domain strategy across payments, digital channels and risk. You will support the Chief Architect with target-state modelling, integration approaches, data and API governance, and alignment to regulatory and operational standards. This is not a hands-off role. You will bring senior architectural oversight, provide design assurance, challenge delivery teams appropriately, and ensure architectural coherence across multiple programme workstreams.
