Summary: This role involves providing 1:1 tutoring in English, Maths, and Science to secondary-aged students who are currently without a school placement. The tutor will create and deliver tailored lesson plans to address educational gaps and enhance student engagement and attainment. The position is part-time, with flexible hours based on family convenience, and aims to support vulnerable learners in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition packages in English, Maths, and Science.
- Create, plan, and implement tailored lesson plans for KS3 or KS4 students.
- Support disengaged and vulnerable learners to improve their educational outcomes.
- Work within the community or at the pupil's home in Okehampton.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Key Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience in UK classroom teaching.

Prospero Teaching is looking for English, Maths and Science Tutors to deliver bespoke tuition packages on a 1:1 basis to secondary-aged young people that are currently without a school placement.
The Opportunity
This English, Maths and Science Tutor role is perfect for someone looking to step away from the classroom and make a difference to the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. The successful tutor must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in KS3 or KS4 pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels.

We are looking for English, Maths and Science Tutor who are eager to work with children and young people with a variety of learning needs with a creative, flexible and holistic approach to raise attainment and drastically improve the outlook of their educational journey.
Contract/Position Details:
- Location - Within the community or pupils' home in Okehampton
- Position - English, Maths and Science Tutor

Experience, Training and Qualifications of the English, Maths and Science Tutor:
- QTS or equivalent
- Possess UK classroom teaching experience
- Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
- Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
To be eligible for this role, the potential 1:1 English, Maths and Science Tutor must:
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references.
