Summary: The Data Test Analyst role involves supporting a major transformation programme by validating finance data platforms and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The position requires collaboration with data engineers and finance stakeholders to manage large-scale data movements and reconciliations. This contract role is based in Leicestershire, requiring three days of onsite work per week. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills and experience with Databricks in a data testing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validate data pipelines and transformations within a modern data platform
- Perform detailed SQL-based data validation and reconciliation testing
- Work with finance datasets, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Test data migrations and transformations into Databricks
- Create and execute structured test plans and test cases
- Support UAT and work closely with finance stakeholders
- Identify data quality issues and drive resolution with engineering teams
- Ensure robust documentation and auditability (critical in finance transformation work)
Key Skills:
- Strong experience as a Test Analyst/QA within data environments
- Advanced SQL skills (writing complex queries for validation and reconciliation)
- Hands-on experience testing within Databricks
- Experience working on data transformation/migration programmes
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts
- Experience working with finance data (highly desirable)
- Comfortable working onsite in Leicestershire 3 days per week

The Opportunity
We're working with a client on a major Transformation programme, and they're looking for an experienced Data Test Analyst/QA to join their data team on a contract basis.
This is a key role supporting the transformation of finance data platforms, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and robustness across complex data pipelines and reporting layers.
You'll be Embedded within the data team, working closely with data engineers, finance stakeholders, and transformation leads to validate large-scale data movements and reconciliations.
The Role
As a Data Test Analyst, you will:
