Summary: This role of Data Protection Assessor in Oxfordshire involves managing a high volume of privacy and supplier assessments while supporting ongoing developments in data protection. The position requires direct engagement with stakeholders and oversight from the Head of Data Protection. The assessor will also be responsible for maintaining Records of Processing Activities and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. The role is contract-based for 12 months and requires a strong understanding of data lifecycle and GDPR compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage your workload, engaging directly with stakeholders to gather requirements
  • Deliver privacy and supplier assessments, including risk identification and remediation
  • Support "privacy by design" across customer-related projects and attend relevant steer-cos
  • Audit and maintain Records of Processing Activities (ROPA)
  • Involved in data flow mapping and expected to conduct around 100 assessments plus evaluations of around 20 new tools per year

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the data lifecycle, DPA, and GDPR
  • Comfortable working with the Microsoft stack
  • Background in smaller organisations or retail is beneficial
  • Experience in non-regulated industries preferred

Overview

This role sits within a high-demand team focused on supporting ongoing developments and delivering a high volume of assessments. You'll report into the Head of Data Protection, with day-to-day oversight from the manager responsible for Q&A and assurance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage your workload, engaging directly with stakeholders to gather requirements
