Summary: The Data Manager role focuses on enhancing data quality and governance within a global travel leader's Data Governance team. This position requires collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data is standardized and optimized. The successful candidate will automate data quality checks, maintain governance documentation, and analyze datasets to assess the impact of data issues. This is a hybrid position based in Manchester for a contract duration of 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automating data quality checks and creating reports to identify root causes of data issues.
- Maintaining data dictionaries, business glossaries, and end-to-end data lineage.
- Partnering with Data Engineers and Product Managers to improve data products and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Profiling complex datasets to quantify the business impact of data failures.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in SQL and Python for data analysis and profiling.
- Experience with Tableau or PowerBI for data visualization.
- 1-3 years of experience in Data Governance, MDM, or lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of Data Warehouse vs. Data Lake architectures and ETL workflows.
- Ability to translate technical data issues into actionable business insights for senior stakeholders.

Working within an Agile environment, you will bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. You will be responsible for:
