Cyber Security Consultant | Security Assurance SME

Summary: The Cyber Security Consultant/Security Assurance SME role involves supporting a central government client with a focus on Cyber Security Assurance in a high-threat environment. The position is available for an initial six assignments with the possibility of extension. Candidates must possess an active Security clearance and relevant experience in the field. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement based in London or Milton Keynes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce GovAssure and Secure-By-Design assessments, including Risk Assessment Papers, Risk Treatment Plans, Risk Business Cases, and Security Management Plans.
• Utilize security architecture and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools such as Splunk, Defender, Sentinel, ELK, and Tenable Threat Modelling System solutions.
• Analyze cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and security controls.
• Apply knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework, ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT, SABSA, and TOGAF.
• Conduct risk and threat modelling within high-threat government environments.

Key Skills:

• Experience in producing GovAssure and Secure-By-Design assessments.
• Knowledge of security architecture and SIEM tools.
• Understanding of cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.

Summer-Browning Associates is currently supporting our central government client, who is seeking a Cyber Security Consultant for an initial 6 assignments with the option to extend.

Location: London/Milton Keynes/Hybrid/Remote
