Summary: An experienced Front End Engineer with active SC Clearance is sought for a 6-month hybrid contract in Hampshire, offering a daily rate of up to £650. The role involves designing and delivering modern user interfaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and integrating UI components with backend services. The ideal candidate will have strong JavaScript and front-end development experience, particularly with React or similar frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop modern, responsive front end applications using React and TypeScript
- Build real-time, data-driven features (e.g. WebSockets / SignalR)
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and users to define and deliver requirements
- Contribute to scalable, maintainable front end architecture
- Integrate UI components with APIs and backend services
- Write clean, secure, and well-tested code
- Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, demos)
- Work with user researchers to translate user needs into technical solutions
- Support containerised environments as part of the wider platform
- Produce clear documentation and prototypes
Key Skills:
- Strong JavaScript and front end development experience
- React (or similar frameworks such as Vue or Angular)
- Experience building responsive, user-focused interfaces
- Real-time data handling (e.g. WebSockets)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
- Desirable Skills: js (tooling or full-stack exposure)
- Nginx or similar web servers / reverse proxies
- Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Bash or PowerShell scripting
- Understanding of databases and API integrations
- Experience within defence or secure environments
