Summary: The role of Civil Engineer involves supporting a UK-based civil and structural engineering consultancy on a contract basis, focusing on a variety of infrastructure and development projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver civil engineering designs from concept through to detailed design
- Prepare and review calculations and drawings in line with UK standards and Eurocodes
- Design works including drainage, highways, earthworks, levels, and external works
- Support planning, technical approvals, and construction phases
- Prepare technical reports and design documentation
- Liaise with clients, architects, and the wider design team
- Attend design meetings and, where required, site visits
- Manage assigned workloads and meet project deadlines
Key Skills:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years’ relevant UK industry experience
- Strong knowledge of current UK design standards
- Experience in drainage design (e.g. SuDS, foul & surface water)
- Familiarity with civil engineering software such as MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, or similar
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and clear technical reporting ability
- Experience working within a consultancy environment preferred

This position would suit a Civil Engineer with strong technical capability who is comfortable working autonomously while integrating with an existing project team.
