Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on building safety compliance across a varied residential property portfolio.
  • Ensure the organization meets statutory obligations related to building safety.
  • Embed robust governance and risk management arrangements in line with current legislation.
  • Develop, review, and manage Safety Cases and building safety documentation.
  • Provide assurance to senior stakeholders at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including residents, contractors, and regulators.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in building safety, fire safety, or compliance-focused roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Order.
  • Experience in developing and managing Safety Cases and building safety documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • A relevant professional qualification in building safety, fire safety, health & safety, surveying, or related disciplines.

Your new company An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Building Safety Manager to join a public sector organisation based in South West London. This is a key interim appointment, providing specialist building safety leadership and assurance across a varied residential property portfolio during a critical period of regulatory focus.Reporting into senior leadership, you will lead on building safety compliance, ensuring the organisation meets its statutory obligations and embeds robust governance and risk management arrangements in line with current legislation.To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a building safety, fire safety, or compliance-focused role, ideally within local authority, housing, or the wider public sector
  • Strong working knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Order, and associated regulations
  • Experience of developing, reviewing, or managing Safety Cases and building safety documentation
  • The ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, providing assurance to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including residents, contractors, and regulators
  • A relevant professional qualification (or equivalent experience) in building safety, fire safety, health & safety, surveying, or a related discipline
