Job Description

The AI Centre of Excellence (AI COE) is expanding the organisation’s capability to design, deploy, and operationalise AI solutions across workflows, products, and teams. The COE partners with Engineering, Data, Product, and Organisational Transformation to deliver high-quality AI tools that improve speed, reduce manual effort, and enable more autonomous, insight-driven decision-making across the business. The AI Delivery Manager ensures that AI solutions — whether built internally or procured externally — land cleanly, safely, and effectively. This role acts as the coordination layer around the COE’s engineering, product, and analysis work, ensuring delivery progresses smoothly, dependencies are managed, and the organisation is fully prepared to adopt what is delivered. The role is instrumental in deploying enterprise-scale AI capabilities such as enterprise search, AI copilots, and agent environments, working across technical teams, governance, and business units to ensure alignment and readiness. This is a hands-on, execution-focused position suited to someone who brings structure, pace, and clarity to multi-team delivery in a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery Coordination (Supporting Engineering & Product)
  • Work with the wider AI COE, Engineering, and Product teams to own and coordinate the delivery of AI solutions.
  • Monitor and remove external blockers so Engineering and Product can maintain delivery pace and stay focused on build work.
  • Coordinate activities outside the core engineering workflow — e.g., aligning business teams, scheduling UAT participants, and managing cross-functional dependencies.
  • Track and resolve dependencies across internal teams including Data, Security, and business units.
  • Coordinate with the COE Comms Lead and AI Culture Change Project Manager where required to ensure organisational readiness for releases (access, training scheduling, operational handovers).
  • Vendor / Buy-Option Delivery Lead preparation for vendor onboarding, including procurement inputs, security reviews, DPIAs, access setup, and readiness checks.
  • Coordinate rollout of third-party tools to ensure teams are equipped for adoption and usage.
  • Align vendor solutions with internal platform, architecture, and security standards.
  • Organise and manage UAT for vendor solutions, ensuring testers, environments, and acceptance criteria are in place.
  • Support the AI COE Programme Director to coordinate delivery and rollout of organisation-wide AI capabilities (e.g., enterprise search platforms, copilots, agent environments), ensuring technical and business teams are aligned and ready.
  • Cross-Functional Programme Support
  • Coordinate delivery across COE Engineering, Data, and business functions (Sales, Customer Success, Editorial, Operations, etc.) where multiple teams must work in sequence or in parallel.
  • Provide concise delivery reporting to the Programme Director — progress, risks, decisions, and upcoming work.
  • Support the Organisational Transformation team by aligning delivery timelines with business readiness and change impacts.
  • Work closely with the AI People Change Project Manager to align delivery sequencing with people-change activities and ensure smooth adoption across business units.

Experience & Attributes

  • Proven experience in delivery management across digital, data, or product environments.
  • Experience with AI deployments desirable.
  • Strong cross-functional coordination skills; able to navigate complex organisational landscapes quickly.
  • Experience working alongside and supporting highly capable product and engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to enable self-organising teams — knows when to intervene, when to step back, and how to remove friction without limiting autonomy.
  • Strong grounding in UAT, vendor onboarding, and enterprise security/governance requirements.
  • Direct, concise communicator able to operate at pace with limited oversight.
  • Comfortable handling sequencing, risk escalation, and dependency management across multiple workstreams
