Summary: The Agile Scrum Master role in Staffordshire, UK, involves leading and facilitating Scrum ceremonies while supporting delivery in complex software and engineering environments. The Scrum Master will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and manage impediments affecting team progress. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate core Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Guide the team in defining clear sprint goals and maintaining focus on agreed delivery commitments.
- Ensure the backlog is refined, prioritised, and maintained in a ready state in line with the delivery plan.
- Drive effective refinement of future sprint scope to improve story readiness, execution quality, and delivery predictability.
- Identify, manage, and remove impediments affecting team progress, escalating wider risks, issues, and dependencies where appropriate.
- Partner with the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders to manage items beyond the team’s direct control and ensure alignment across interfaces.
- Support the resolution of inconsistency dashboard issues and other delivery governance matters impacting team effectiveness.
- Foster a high-performing team environment that encourages participation, accountability, collaboration, and mutual respect.
- Coach the team in self-organisation, cross-functional working, and the disciplined application of Scrum principles and Agile values.
- Ensure sprint increments are demonstrated effectively and that feedback is incorporated into ongoing planning and improvement.
- Facilitate meaningful retrospectives, driving actionable improvement plans and ensuring follow-through across subsequent sprints.
- Protect the team from unnecessary interruption during the sprint and help maintain focus on committed outcomes.
- Mediate conflicts constructively and promote open, effective communication within the team and across stakeholder groups.
- Provide ongoing guidance and coaching to strengthen Agile maturity and maintain alignment with current Scrum practices.
- Support coordination of goals, priorities, and dependencies across teams to enable integrated delivery.

Experience Required

Exposure to industrial control systems, power systems, HVDC, or MATLAB/Simulink-based development environments would be advantageous. Strong facilitation, coaching, and servant leadership capability.
